New Hampshire State Prison for Men

New Hampshire State Prison for Men (NHSPM) – Concord, NH

The New Hampshire State Prison for Men is the state’s oldest prison facility and provides housing for three classification levels of male inmates, ranging from general population to maximum security. As of July 1, 2017, the prison’s population was 1412.

New Hampshire Correctional Facility for Women

New Hampshire Correctional Facility for Women (NHCFW) – Concord, NH

The New Hampshire Correctional Facility for Women opened in 2018 and houses primarily minimum, medium, and close custody state-sentenced female inmates. As of July 1, 2017, the prison’s population was 137.

Northern New Hampshire Correctional Facility

Northern New Hampshire Correctional Facility (NCF) – Berlin, NH

The Northern New Hampshire Correctional Facility opened in 2000, and provides housing for general population male inmates with a focus on individual development and personal growth. As of July 1, 2017, the prison’s population was 641.

    There are also several Transitional Housing Facilities and Work Centers, located in Concord, NH and Manchester, NH. These facilities take minimum-custody inmates who are ready to get out and re-enter society. The COs working in these transitional facilities are part of our Community Corrections team.
